In 1975 Ron Beilby, an acknowledged HR and Employee Relations expert, followed his instinct and insight and launched a new concept in recruitment, namely Beilby. Ron had a vision - he wanted to develop a consultative human resources company that had a rigorous process for recruitment selection based on a whole host of factors including psychometric testing, plus an ability to deliver high end HR solutions. As Ron stated, all people are individuals. The combination of scientific assessment and professional advice will help the selection of the best new recruit for the business, or the best environment in which to grow their long-term career. Ron helped turn the vision into reality.
Beilby became the main distributor of the GeneSys suite of services (one of the Global leaders in the field) across Australia including a variety of tests that assess a candidate’s reasoning ability, personality, leadership style and emotional intelligence to name but a few. Ron also recognised that the ability to assess should not be targeted only at the individual level, but also a company’s environment, cultural vitality, engagement of the staff and the ability to develop staff should also be assessed and hence Ron brought on-board services to deliver against that objective. The final piece of the jigsaw was the purchase of Tasker Corry, a well known and highly experienced Career Transition Management consultancy. This meant that Beilby could now assist a client from the initial attraction of the candidates, through to the development of the candidate and the culture of the company to help aid retention or to help manage a career transition process - a virtuous circle.
Over the subsequent years Beilby has continued to refine the rigorous process which has become its hallmark. Systems and processes have been honed so that from the initial candidate sourcing, through to the behavioural and competency based interviewing, psychometric testing and the in-depth reference checking our clients can be assured they have the best candidates available for the job, hence the industry best 2 year performance guarantee. Knowing that we had all the building blocks in place, the business embarked on an expansion plan where additional branches were opened in Brisbane and Sydney. Subsequently additional offices were established in Melbourne and Newcastle.
