Beilby has a commitment to only offering proven assessment measures that have established reliable credentials regarding their construction, technical validity and relevant benchmarking or norm data.
Tests and questionnaires that are currently available via our on-line service have been used by Beilby for many years and all have a proven ability to reliably measure what they purport to measure.
These tests and questionnaires have all been developed by Psychologists and are included in a family of services provided to Beilby by the test publishers, Psytech International under the brand name of GeneSys™.
Beilby can provide its clients with a range of testing systems for internal administration and reporting. In the past, the scoring and interpretation of personality and behavioural type measures required that they be conducted off site under the supervision of trained Psychologists. This was largely due to the requirement that raw psychometric data needed to be derived, interpreted and reported by appropriately trained professionals.
With the development of sophisticated on-line administration, scoring and interpretative systems it is possible for employers to access a validated range of personality, aptitude and ability testing products without external intervention, at a much lower cost than would normally prevail. Beilby provides compulsory test administrator training to clients to ensure the assessment is implemented appropriately and effectively.
Beilby can license organisations to use these assessment systems as an on-line service on an extremely cost effective basis. The capacity to utilise a proven testing strategy at levels within an organisation ensures objectivity is provided on all people-based decisions.
Test Publisher Recognition
The various tests and systems distributed by Beilby are provided under licence to the test publishers who are identified in the detail section of each test.
Measures of Personality, Values and Interests
Personality questionnaires provide a fair, objective and cost-effective method of predicting likely behaviour in a wide range of settings. They are used in conjunction with other evidence to make predictions about likely success in a wide range of jobs.
Developed for use in industry on a worldwide basis, Beilby offers a range of measures of personality, occupational interests and personal values all of which are supported by benchmarking data or norms and impressive validation evidence gathered both within Australia and overseas.
Career Guidance and Counselling
Clearly all people are different and have different career expectations, interests and objectives. When considering future employment directions these differences need to be measured and recognised in order that the most balanced career decisions can be taken.
Beilby utilises a range of methodologies which provide objective evidence to support career transition or guidance to people at all ages and levels within the community.
The Tests
GeneSys™ fully supports an impressive range of test materials, which can be administered on-line via any PC connected to the internet. Users must be trained by Beilby to correctly administer these tests in controlled environments. The tests include measures of personality, vocational interests, values, aptitudes and abilities. Assessment batteries are available for clerical, technical, sales, graduate and managerial selection and development.
The Reports
Individual Reports
These are based on a single respondent’s scores on a particular test or battery. Individual reports can include profile and narrative elements.
Profile Match
This allows the user to specify the ideal profile on a particular personality questionnaire and compare respondents to this ideal, highlighting overall fit and areas for further exploration.
Security
To ensure confidentiality of sensitive test data GeneSys has a sophisticated password facility which controls different users’ access to designated parts of the program and database.
Professional Requirements
The GeneSys™ assessment materials can only be distributed to registered test users. Thus the various modules for administering, scoring and producing reports on different tests are restricted to those who have received appropriate professional training. In addition, the availability of on-screen administration and automated scoring is limited for some tests due to copyright restrictions.
Online Manuals
For all tests supplied on-line, an up-to-date technical and user manual is available. This allows users to easily access specific information of interest e.g. background information, psychometric properties, interpretation guidelines etc.
Online Help
Comprehensive on-line help is provided at the touch of a button, wherever you are within the program. Distributed under Licence to Psytech International.
Measures of Aptitude and Ability
Over 60 years of accumulated evidence supports the power of ability tests in predicting occupational and academic outcomes. Tests distributed by Beilby are developed on this foundation, while taking advantage of the growth of the Internet to administer, score and interpret the data.
General Reasoning Tests (GRT2)
A comprehensive, detailed and accurate measure of mental ability, this test has been designed to assess reasoning power. It is suitable for use in assessing people for a wide range of jobs. It consists of three sections, which measure respectively: Verbal (VR2), Numerical (NR2) and Abstract (AR2) reasoning.
Graduate Reasoning Tests (GRT1)
A comprehensive and in-depth measure of mental capacity, this test has been designed to assess high level reasoning ability suitable for senior management and graduate calibre staff. It consists of three sections, which measure respectively; Verbal (VR1), Numerical (NR1) and Abstract (AR1) reasoning.
Critical Reasoning Test Battery (CRTB2)
Providing a detailed and accurate measure of critical reasoning this test series consists of two tests: the Verbal Critical Reasoning (VCR2) and Numerical Critical Reasoning (NCR2) tests. Specifically designed for senior management and professional assessment the stem passages and tables, which form the basis of these critical reasoning tests, have been designed to reflect current, real world issues; thus avoiding the artificiality of some test formats.
Clerical Test Battery (CTB2)
This test series consists of four tests which assess a range of clerical aptitudes and skills: Verbal Reasoning (VR2), Numerical Ability (NA2), Clerical Checking (CC2) and Spelling (SP2). Designed for general clerical and administrative positions, tests can either be administered on their own in order to assess one specific aptitude, or the whole battery can be administered to produce a candidate profile. The clerical battery also includes an optional on-screen typing and filing test and can be integrated with a personality questionnaire.
Technical Test Battery (TTB2)
This test series consists of three measures which can be administered on-screen or in pencil-and-paper form, on their own or as a complete series. The TTB2 measures the core skills that are required for selecting and assessing staff for engineering apprenticeships, craft apprenticeships or technical training. More than a measure of knowledge or attainment the TTB2 will help identify those people who are likely to be able to grasp technical concepts and put them to practical use. The Technical Test Battery can be integrated with the General Reasoning tests (GRT2) with GeneSys providing a fully integrated aptitude profile and narrative report.
Occupational Personality Profile (OPP)
A comprehensive yet quick to administer personality profile measuring nine core traits that are of particular relevance in occupational assessment. The OPP was developed as part of an extensive research programme in major organisations and is supported by a continuing development programme. Consequently, the user can be sure that the occupationally relevant personality scales measured by this test are reliable and robust. Specifically developed to be implemented on GeneSys™ integrated assessment software the OPP is at the cutting-edge of computer aided assessment.

Fifteen Factor Personality Questionnaire (15FQ+)
The very latest version of the 15FQ+ questionnaire provides a comprehensive assessment of personality. Building on the most current research the 15FQ+ has been fully revised to make it suitable for use in the international business environment. Maintaining the breadth of the original 16 personality factors, first identified by Raymond B Cattell, the 15FQ+ sets new standards for reliability and validity. Available in a long (200 item) and short (100 item) form, the test materials have been carefully designed to make them easier and quicker to complete, score and profile.
This new edition of the 15FQ remains true to the original version of this test, which measured fifteen of the core personality factors first identified by Cattell in 1946. However, by taking advantage of recent developments in psychometrics and information technology, Psytech have produced a shorter, yet more reliable measure of these primary personality factors. Most significantly, the 15FQ+ incorporates a number of recent psychometric innovations; making these developments widely available to the test user for the first time. These innovations include the addition of a measure of Factor ß (intellectance), which was excluded from the first edition of this test for theoretical and practical reasons.Distributed under Licence to Psytech International
Values and Motives Questionnaire (VMI)
The VMI scales have been selected not only for their relevance to the workplace but on the basis of a thorough review of those values which have been identified in previous research as being important determinants of behaviour at work. These cover three broad areas, Interpersonal, Extrinsic and Intrinsic. Interpersonal values are those which influence an individual’s approach to relationships with others. Extrinsic values and motives are factors which could sustain behaviour in the workplace. Intrinsic values and motives relate to personal beliefs and attitudes which could guide an individual’s decisions in respect of everyday problems.
Occupational Interest Profile (OIP+)
Designed to provide a comprehensive and fully integrated psychometric assessment for career guidance and development. This test series consists of an occupational interest questionnaire and a measure of "personal work needs" which can be fully integrated with a choice of general or specific aptitude measures. Developed following extensive initial trialling on a large sample of 16 to 18 year olds it has been designed so that only a basic level of education is required to complete it. Since its development in 1991 it has subsequently been applied to professional groups with impressive results and now boasts a norm group of several thousands of working adults in a variety of occupational areas.
